How to share wedding photos with guests

There are three common ways: a shared Google Drive folder, a WhatsApp group, or an online gallery where each guest finds their own photos with a selfie. Drive and WhatsApp are free and familiar, but guests dig through everything themselves. A selfie gallery shows each guest only the photos they’re in.

A shared Google Drive folder

Upload the photos, set the folder to Anyone with the link, and send the link. Guests can open it without signing in to a Google Account.

It costs nothing beyond your storage, but that storage is shared with your Gmail and Google Photos: 15 GB on a free account. Guests see every photo and look through the folders themselves to find the ones they’re in.

A WhatsApp group

Most guests are already on WhatsApp, so a group feels natural. But photos arrive one after another in the chat, and the group fills up with replies. A few hundred photos are a lot to scroll through, and a few thousand are hard to find anything in.

A gallery guests search with a selfie

Upload the wedding once and share one QR code or link. Each guest agrees to a face search, takes a selfie and sees the photos they’re in, without an app or an account. It needs a plan that includes face search, and every guest is asked before their face is searched.

Which one to use

  • A small wedding, or photos just for the couple: a Drive folder is enough.
  • A few snaps for close family: a WhatsApp group works.
  • Hundreds of guests and thousands of photos: a selfie gallery saves everyone the scrolling.

Sharing with PixSpace, step by step

  1. Create an event: its name, the date, and who can search.
  2. Drop the whole wedding folder, with each function in its own folder.
  3. Open the Share tab: copy the link, send it on WhatsApp, or print a standee.
  4. Guests scan, agree to the search, take a selfie and get their photos.

Questions

  • What happens to a guest’s selfie?

It’s used for one search and deleted as soon as that search has run. No face data from the selfie is stored. Every guest is asked before the camera opens, and anyone who says no is never searched.

  • What does PixSpace cost?

Each plan’s price, limits and features are on the pricing page. You pay once for the length you pick, and nothing renews on its own.
